In all honesty I wouldn’t knwo how to do a hack since it would be specific to your system.

I guess that line 12: 

if($site_name_in)

could be changed to

if(isset($site_name_in))

And that might take care of that.

Line 53 through 56:

$server=$GLOBALS[SERVER_NAME];
$path=str_replace(’/install.php’, ’’, $GLOBALS[REDIRECT_URL]);
$path=str_replace(’/’, ’’, $path);
$path="$path/";

could simply be replaced with

$path = ’http://mydomain/mypath/’;

Using the actual domain and path to the directory or folder the script will be located in. Or for that matter, left blank ($path=’’;) since all this does is prefill one of the form fields on the initial installation script.
